I was so happy to be able to return to my hometown to shoot a wedding at Casablanca in Austin, TX. This venue was near the top of the list for my own wedding a few years ago (it ended up being too small for my guest list lol). I was so glad the bride chose it because of the great photo opportunities. What’s unique about this venue are the bride’s & groom’s rooms. The groomsmen can relax with big screen tv and comfy couches while the bride gets ready in a room with full length mirror and direct access outside to make her big entrance.
I had a lot of fun helping plan this wedding from the invitations I designed, to the photography, to my first ever cakeball cake! Also, this was the first wedding in which my mom and I worked as a team. She is a florist and decorator and does amazing work. I overheard compliments throughout the wedding- from her hand-lettered chalkboard signs, to her Pinterest inspired colored bottles, to her flower arrangements & bouquets. You can see a sample of her work at her blog http://floralbylaura.wordpress.com/
